Behind the Scenes
Running time: 7 minutes
Shot in March of 2001
Completed in September of 2001
Shot in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, NY
- The movie was shot on miniDV using a Canon XL1 and edited in Final Cut Pro.
- The original shooting script called for rain during the nighttime sequences.
This was scrapped and extremely low temperatures were substituted when a deal
could not be struck
with the weather.
- It was extremely cold during the shooting and the actors are not faking the
shivering.
- Prendergast sustained many serious burns on his forehead while having
his hair bleached for the part. He received a full refund from the inexperienced
transvestite
hairdresser. You
can see the burn scabs on his forehead in close-ups.
- The albino's eyes were created with white contact lenses and white mascara.
- The shot of Anna opening her mail was filmed a full 5 months after the
original shoot.
- The shooting script opens with a long scene in
a police station, where Anna
complains to
a skeptical officer about her stalker. The skeptical officer was
played by Eddie Pepitone. And he was great. But the scene was cut in the interest
of a shorter running time.
- The song "My Fear" was written and performed by UTAH CAROL.
- A scene at a crosswalk was also filmed, and cut. In the scene, Anna and
her stalker wait for the light to change at a busy intersection. The albino
presses
the button for the crosswalk, as Anna's hands are full of grocery bags. During
the shooting of this scene, the camera was placed across the street, out of
view of the passing cars. Numerous drivers honked their horns in an attempt
to warn the actress about the man standing behind her. One man yelled out: "Lady,
look out! He's got a knife!"
