Behind the Scenes
Running time: 16 minutes
Shot in August of 2002
Completed in November of 2002
Shot in Brooklyn, NY
- The movie was shot on miniDV using a Canon XL1 and edited in Final Cut Pro.
- It was extremely hot during two all-weekend shoots. Both pantsuits were soaked
with sweat and completely disgusting by the end.
- The red and yellow pantsuits were custom made by FIT graduate Maria Silver.
They were made to look as if they were from the 1970's and designed for short,
middle-aged women.
- The film was shot in writer/director Scott Prendergast's apartment. There
is no walk-in closet in the apartment. A set was built out of cardboard and
attached
to the bedroom. When Prendergast walks into the closet, he is actually walking
into his kitchen.
- The opening scene on the telephones, the party conversations, and the droning
dialogue at the office were all improvised by the cast.
- The cast and crew were chased out of Prospect Park by the police during the
filming of the final scene. Several hours later, the cast and crew snuck
back into the park to film the last running sequences.
- The female worker in the office scene is Doreen Bucher, who also did all
the hair and makeup.
- Several screaming children in the street had to be silenced quite roughly
during the filming of the party scene.
- This film is part of a trilogy.
